Arsenal’s title hopes are bolstered by Manchester City’s recent dropped points, putting the championship in their hands for the first time in over two decades. Arsenal sits five points clear of Manchester City in the Premier League title race, with only three games remaining.
Manchester City recently drew 3-3 against Everton, allowing Arsenal to extend their lead. Arsenal can secure the Premier League title if they win their final three games. Their upcoming fixtures include matches against West Ham, Burnley, and Crystal Palace.
As it stands, Arsenal has played 35 games and accumulated 76 points. In contrast, Manchester City has played 34 games, earning 71 points. City has a game in hand, which adds pressure to their remaining matches against Brentford, Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Bournemouth, and Aston Villa.
If Arsenal beats West Ham on Sunday and Manchester City loses to Brentford, they could clinch the title at home against Burnley on May 18. Pep Guardiola acknowledged the importance of winning but noted that “the point is better than no points, but it would have been better to win the game.”
Arsenal’s hopes of winning a first Premier League title in 22 years are now firmly in their hands. If both clubs win their remaining games, Arsenal will still finish two points ahead on the final day of the season.
