Jetour’s local production of the T-Series marks a significant step in the growing influence of Chinese automakers in South Africa. The company plans to begin production at the Rosslyn plant in 2027. This move follows more than 4,500 units sold since the T-Series launch.

Nic Campbell noted that this announcement positions South Africa as integral to Jetour’s global ambitions. Toni Liu emphasized that affordability is key for local consumers rather than focusing solely on exports. Chery is also exploring plans to manufacture a hybrid bakkie at the Rosslyn plant.
