Road users are urged to observe several road closures during the Durban International Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, May 3, in Durban, South Africa. The marathon will include a 10km race starting at Ushaka Marine World and a 42km race starting in Prospecton.

Both races will finish at the Moses Mabhida Stadium outerfield. The 10km race begins at 06:30, while the 42km race starts earlier in the morning.

Road closures:

  • Prospecton Road will be closed from 05:00 to 06:30.
  • South Coast Road will be closed from 05:00 to 07:00.
  • M4 South will be closed from 05:00 to 09:00.
  • Snell Parade will be closed from 05:00 to 11:00.
  • Athlone Road will be closed from 06:00 to 12:00.

The Durban Metro Police recommend using alternative routes during these closures. Officials have not confirmed if additional measures will be taken to manage traffic flow.
