WSU Soccer Team Prepares for Spring Season
As the spring season approaches, the WSU soccer team is gearing up for its first match against the Eastern Washington Eagles. Chris Citowicki, the new head coach of the WSU soccer team, emphasized the team’s strategic approach, stating, “In terms of style of play we are gonna be front foot on the press… we will be heavy when it comes to defending and pressing from the front.” This marks a fresh start for the Cougars, who finished last season with a record of 7-7-5.
The Eagles, who ended their previous season with a record of 8-7-4, will also be looking to improve their performance. Last season, Chloe Pattison was a standout player for the Eagles, scoring six goals. The upcoming match is anticipated to be a competitive encounter, with both teams eager to make a strong impression as they embark on their spring campaigns.
With nine spring games scheduled for the Eagles, and the Cougs looking to build on their past performance, the excitement surrounding WSU soccer is palpable. As the teams prepare for their respective seasons, the focus will be on developing skills and fostering teamwork to achieve their goals.
