The Rand Easter Show opened on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec, and will run until Easter Monday. This year’s event is themed ‘Jungle Magic’, promising a variety of activities for attendees.
Among the attractions, children can participate in an Easter egg hunt and enjoy picking raspberries at the Berry Farm. The show aims to provide a fun and engaging environment for families during the Easter holidays.
In a notable instance, the headmaster of Chief Albert Luthuli Primary School brought 60 pupils to the show, spending R4,600 on transport. This highlights the event’s accessibility and appeal to local schools and communities.
Gates at the Rand Show are open daily from 9 am to 7 pm, with entrance gates closing at 6 pm. This schedule allows families ample time to explore the various offerings throughout the day.
The Rand Show has garnered recognition in the event industry, having been named PR Campaign of the Year at the AAXO Roar Awards. Additionally, it received a Certificate for Marketing Excellence and was awarded Best in Social Media Expo of the Year at the ExpoX Awards.
Adele Hartdegen, a representative of the show, remarked, “These accolades speak to the passion of the team behind the Rand Show and the enduring connection the show has with South Africans.” This sentiment reflects the event’s significance in the local cultural landscape.
Participants and attendees have expressed their enjoyment of the event. Lebohang Khumalo shared, “I told myself that I didn’t want my children to grow up like I did,” emphasizing the importance of providing enriching experiences for the next generation.
Peter Manana added, “No amount of money could replace the fun the children were having,” highlighting the value of such community events in creating lasting memories.
The Rand Easter Show continues to be a significant event that offers entertainment and joy during the Easter holidays, despite economic pressures. As the show progresses, it remains to be seen how many more families will take part in the festivities.
