Key moments
Pearl Abyss has announced the release of Patch 1.03 for its open-world RPG, Crimson Desert, which went live on March 23, 2026. This update introduces a range of significant improvements across all platforms, including Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5.
The update is currently available on PS5 and most PC storefronts, while Xbox players will receive it at a later date. Among the key features of Patch 1.03 is the introduction of an offline play mode and a 120Hz mode specifically for Xbox players, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
In addition to these features, the patch has increased the health restored from food and items, making gameplay more accessible. Players will also benefit from new item storage options at the Howling Hill Camp, allowing them to store items from their Inventory in a Private Storage space.
Furthermore, various controls for gamepads and keyboard/mouse setups have been adjusted to improve responsiveness. The patch also addresses several quest-related issues and enhances NPC behavior, aiming to create a more immersive gaming environment.
Notably, the update has reduced the health and attack power of certain bosses, making encounters less punishing for players. The price of restorative items has been significantly lowered from 10 Silver to just 1 Silver, providing players with easier access to essential resources.
Localization errors have also been fixed, with improvements made to localization quality across all languages. This is part of Pearl Abyss’s ongoing commitment to addressing player feedback and enhancing the overall gaming experience.
Hotfix 1.00.04 has also been released exclusively for the PS5 version of the game, following the initial patch. This indicates the developers’ responsiveness to player concerns and their dedication to refining the game shortly after its launch.
As Crimson Desert has only been available for a week, players have already invested significant time into the game, indicating a strong interest in the expansive open-world adventure. The first major patch has been well-received, with players expressing appreciation for the improvements and tweaks that have been implemented.
