“We have a game model that we’ve been working on, different ways to get inside the box, create overloads all over the pitch but I believe now we understand each other better between the players and that gives us more opportunities to score,” said Cedric Kaze, co-coach of Kaizer Chiefs, reflecting on the team’s recent success.
Kaizer Chiefs have experienced a resurgence in form, winning four consecutive matches in the league. The team has scored a total of eight goals during this stretch, averaging two goals per game. This improvement comes after a period earlier in the season when the club struggled for consistency in the final third.
Currently sitting in third place in the league standings, Kaizer Chiefs are three points clear of AmaZulu in fourth place, with two games in hand. The team’s recent performance has been bolstered by standout player Lebohang Maboe, who has earned three consecutive Man of the Match awards.
“The consistency in the recent results comes from the consistency in performances and the consistency in the line-up,” Kaze added, emphasizing the importance of stability in the squad as they approach the final stretch of the season.
In their last three fixtures, Kaizer Chiefs scored seven goals, showcasing their attacking prowess. Kaze noted, “It’s true that we’ve scored seven goals in the last three games, we need to keep that going into the final stretch of the season because I believe we do create enough opportunities to score even more than these.”
As the team prepares for upcoming matches, Kaze remains focused on their objectives. “We are here to serve the club, and we will do our best for the remainder of the games,” he stated, indicating a commitment to maintaining their current form.
With the CAF Confederation Cup on the horizon, Kaizer Chiefs aim to build on their recent success and capitalize on their momentum. Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see if the team can sustain this level of performance as the season progresses.
