Sergeant Fannie Nkosi, referred to as Witness F, returns to the Madlanga Commission today to continue with cross-examination after being hospitalized last month. The Commission is investigating serious allegations of criminality, political interference, and corruption within the South African criminal justice system.
Nkosi is expected to provide insights into various allegations against him, particularly concerning claims that he accepted bribe money from suspected crime boss Katiso “KT” Molefe. This follows previous sessions where the Commission presented CCTV footage showing Nkosi arriving at Molefe’s residence empty-handed and departing with a bag.
Nkosi, who is employed by the South African Police Service (SAPS) in the Gauteng division for organized crime, had previously been granted anonymity. However, he initiated a court application last year that led to his name being made public, allowing him to testify openly at the Commission.
The ongoing Madlanga Commission of Inquiry continues to probe the connections between alleged crime cartel leaders and law enforcement officials, aiming to uncover the extent of corruption within the system. Observers are keenly awaiting Nkosi’s testimony, which could provide critical information regarding the alleged collusion between police and criminal elements.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the specific allegations Nkosi will address today, but his testimony is anticipated to be pivotal in the Commission’s investigation.
