Strade Bianche 2026: Pogačar Claims Fourth Victory
“I’ve probably said this in the past but chapeau to the team today. They’ve done an incredible job from the start, controlling the breakaway and setting up a great pace. It was beautiful to see all the guys from the team performing so well. I’m super happy to deliver the win,” said Tadej Pogačar after his remarkable performance at Strade Bianche 2026.
The race, held on March 7, 2026, in the picturesque region of Tuscany, covered a distance of 203 kilometers and included 14 sectors of sterrato, totaling about 64 kilometers of dirt roads. Pogačar’s victory marked a record fourth win at this prestigious event, further solidifying his status as one of cycling’s elite athletes.
Pogačar executed an impressive 80-kilometer solo attack during the race, showcasing his strength and strategy. His closest competitor, Paul Seixas, finished in second place, while Isaac del Toro secured third. The challenging terrain of the gravel roads in Tuscany tested the riders, but Pogačar’s tactical prowess shone through.
The women’s race also delivered exciting performances, with Elise Chabbey claiming victory. Chabbey’s win was complemented by strong finishes from Katarzyna Niewiadoma in second and Franziska Koch in third. The women’s race featured a competitive atmosphere, with only three riders in the final leading group, highlighting the intensity of the competition.
As the race unfolded, the neutralized start took place at 11:40 AM (Spanish time), with the expected finish time for the race between 4:00 PM and 4:45 PM. The Monte Sante Marie sector, known for its challenging 11.5-kilometer length and 15% gradient on the Via Santa Caterina ramp, proved to be a significant test for the cyclists.
Wout van Aert, another prominent athlete in the race, finished in tenth place, demonstrating the high level of competition present in Strade Bianche 2026. The event continues to be a highlight on the WorldTour calendar, having quickly established itself as one of the most recognizable races since its inception in 2007.
As the cycling community reflects on this year’s race, all eyes will be on the upcoming events and how the athletes will prepare for future challenges. The performances at Strade Bianche 2026 set a high standard for the season ahead, and fans eagerly anticipate the next developments in the cycling world.
