Spirits are high after this past weekend’s Loerie Awards as the Y&R network celebrates a series of wins across 6 offices in the region – the highest number of contributing winning offices for a network at the 2017 Awards.
Work was awarded from Creative Y&R (Nairobi), Advantage Y&R (Windhoek), Y&R Dubai, Y&R South Africa (Cape Town and Johannesburg offices) and Labstore South Africa, Y&R’s Johannesburg-based shopper marketing business unit.
The Y&R Network also celebrates a series of first across the region:
- It’s the first year that all contributing offices received awards – 24 across 18 subcategories in total.
- Y&R Dubai took home its first Grand Prix.
- Y&R South Africa’s Cape Town office cemented its first trio of Golds in Television, Film and Video Communication in a single year, and received the inaugural SANBS Public Service Award.
- Labstore South Africa welcomed its first award, South Africa’s first in the South African Non-English Video category in recent years.
“It has been an exceptional year for Y&R in Africa and the Middle East from a creative point of view when looking at the spread of awarded work across categories this year,” says Graham Lang, Chief Creative Officer of Y&R South Africa and Africa. “Creating a connected creative community throughout the region is something that I have been focused on. But success comes from having the desire to do great work, so congrats to all involved,” he concludes.
