About Us

We aim to challenge and reinvent; to find more effective ways of making our clients’ brands move their customers. And to do so in a manner that is differentiated for their brand while being relevant to their specific customer. We aim to Resist the Usual. This is not difference for difference sake; that way lies gimmickry and short-termism. This is difference and relevance, the cornerstone of successful brand building. We use the power of insights, ideas and impact to deliver work that’s impossible to ignore. This binds us. This fires us up. This is who we are.

Jozi Client Service Team Building

Y&R Johannesburg hosted an ‘Art Jamming Session’ and lunch for the client service team building last week Friday. The ‘Art Jamming’ team building exercise aimed to encourage ‘the suits’ to think from a creative point of view and break away from their usual thinking process, taking them out of their comfort zone and to working their right brain.

Put into teams, they were asked to paint what ‘resist the usual’ means to them collectively. When asked about their experience, Sandy Gene-April said she found it very challenging being in a creative space, especially since they are trained to think more logically and practically. “Liberating, empowering, and exhilarating,” were the adjectives used by Vanessa Lagarto to sum up her account of events.

The office now waits for the works of art to be revealed and the friendly competition leaves everyone in anticipation of who will be crowned the best creative client services team.
